Our Chia seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids omega-3 α-linolenic acid (ALA), Omega-6 Linoleic Acid (LA), and Omega-9 Oleic Acid. Unlike many fish oil supplements, most fatty acid compounds in Chia Seed oil are in Triacylglycerol form, more commonly known as triglycerides (TGs). All twelve TGs present in Chia Seed Oil contain ALA. TGs have been shown to have superior bioavailability compared to forms often found in commercial fish oil supplements.
Besides the fatty acids, Chia Seed oil contains naturally occurring phytochemicals with antioxidant properties and vitamins A, C, E, and niacin (vitamin B3), plus the trace minerals calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and zinc.
Omega-3s (and Omegas 6 and 9) are involved in several vital processes in the body. Omega-3s are part of cell membranes, the outer structure of cells. Chia seed is rich in ALA, an essential omega-3 fatty acid. The human body needs ALA but is unable to synthesize it. Therefore people need to obtain ALA, and other essential fatty acids, through diet or supplements. ALAs help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and lower inflammation in chronic inflammatory diseases.
Yes, because Chia seed oil is rich in antioxidants that can fight free radicals. Oxidative stress, both inside and outside of your cells, can advance aging characterized by wrinkles and pigmentation and damage the collagen in your skin. UV exposure also increases oxidative damage. Antioxidants can help prevent skin aging and protect the cells and biomolecules throughout your body.
Omega-3 fatty acids significantly reduce blood triglyceride levels, according to scientific studies. According to the Mayo Clinic, they also seem to improve high-density lipoprotein (HDL, or 'good' cholesterol). Omega-3s also help your body make hormones that regulate blood clotting, contraction, and relaxation of artery walls, and inflammation. The American Heart Association (AHA) concluded that Omega-6s are also beneficial for heart health and circulation.

Yes, because chia seed oil is naturally rich in antioxidants and zinc. Zinc helps make proteins and DNA, which is essential when your body faces an infection and needs to multiply your immune cells. Zinc also helps blood clot and wounds to heal. On the other hand, antioxidants support the immune system by neutralizing free radicals that are naturally generated when the body faces an infection. If not neutralized, free radicals can harm cells and tissues. This way, antioxidants protect your immune cells while they work and help avoid more serious conditions.
