FAQ

AdaptoZen Vitamin D3 + K2 drops contain the perfect pairing of two incredibly effective complementary ingredients:

  • 125mcg (5000 IU) of Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol)
  • 100mcg of Vitamin K2 (MK-7)

Our formula contains MCT oil & Organic Olive Oil for optimal Vitamin D3 absorption.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the same form of Vitamin D produced in your body when exposed to the sun and is considered more bioavailable than Vitamin D2. One of Vitamin D3’s primary roles is to help increase calcium absorption in the gut. Vitamin D3 has been shown to raise Vitamin D levels in the blood more quickly and efficiently than Vitamin D2.

Studies show that lower levels of Vitamin D correspond with weaker immune systems. When Vitamin D activates within the body, a chemical known as cathelicidin is produced with antimicrobial properties. Our immune system contains Vitamin D receptors, so when our blood levels are adequate, these receptors get filled, and a stronger immune system results.

Our 2-in-one formula combines Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 in the form of MK-7 as it works synergistically with Vitamin D3 to ensure the appropriate distribution of calcium within the body. Without adding Vitamin K2, calcium may end up in places where it can cause harm, such as arteries and soft tissue, and even cause skin damage by breaking down elastin. Adding Vitamin K2 to our supplement helps ensure that the calcium is directed to the bones and teeth.
Customer safety is our highest priority. All of our supplements are manufactured in a GMP-Certified facility in the United States. And we take testing seriously. All of our products are tested four times throughout our supply chain. Once, when we receive raw ingredients, again during manufacturing, with further testing on finished products. Finally, products are third-party tested by an unbiased, independent organization. This approach ensures our products meet exacting specifications and that they’re safe. All raw materials and finished products are tested in the United States.
You don't have to take our Vitamin D supplement with food. Vitamins K2 and D3 are fat-soluble vitamins, but we added Organic Olive Oil and MCT Oil to our formula, so it already contains the dietary fat you need for optimum absorption.
With all of the fantastic benefits of Vitamin D, it’s understandable to assume the higher your levels, the better! However, you can get too much of a good thing, and Vitamin D is no exception. Just as low levels of Vitamin D are associated with health risks, so are levels above the healthy range. This is why it’s usually recommended to have your Vitamin D levels tested every 6-12 weeks when supplementing to ensure you’re within the optimal range.

Vitamin K plays a crucial supporting role in maintaining bone health. We know that calcium is the primary mineral needed to build strong bones, but Vitamin K activates a protein that assists calcium in binding to the bone.

It also plays a significant role in blood clotting by producing prothrombin, an essential protein and clotting factor to stop bleeding and heal wounds.

Low levels of Vitamin K lead mainly to symptoms related to poor blood clotting and can include excessive or easy bruising, tiny blood clots under the nails, bleeds in internal mucous membranes, and even black stool, which may or may not contain blood.

In terms of your overall health, Vitamins D3 and K2 are a power-packed duo that works best together! Over 1 billion people worldwide experience Vitamin D deficiency. Unfortunately, supplementing with this product alone can lead to calcium deposits in arteries and soft tissues, where the calcium doesn’t belong. However, combine it with Vitamin K2, and you’ve got a match made in heaven! The combination of Vitamins D3 and K2 may:

  • Support bone health by depositing calcium and phosphate in your bones and aiding in bone formation & healing through a chemical reaction known as carboxylation.
  • Support stable moods.
  • Support cardiovascular health by redirecting calcium deposits into bones instead of calcification in soft tissues, organs, and blood vessels.
  • Promote healthier hair, skin, and nails by supporting healthy hair follicles and elastin within the skin.
  • Promote immune health by filling Vitamin D receptor sites within the immune system, allowing proper chemical reactions to support and regulate immunity.
  • Support healthy digestion by helping maintain healthy gut bacteria levels.
  • Support insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation.
  • Support healthy sleep.

Vitamin D3 and K2 work synergistically to balance blood calcium levels, which help regulate the health of your blood vessels and bones.

Vitamin D3 helps our bodies to absorb calcium and phosphate. Once it does, Vitamin K2 can go to work and ensure that those minerals end up in the right place (our bones!) instead of in our arteries, where calcification and plaque build-up can lead to heart disease and heart attacks and ultimately premature death.

Vitamin K2 is generally well tolerated by most people and is commonly found in many foods, especially green leafy vegetables. However, side effects are possible, though uncommon. These include:

  • Decreased appetite
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swelling
  • Irritability
  • Pale skin
  • Yellowing of the skin and eyes
  • Low blood pressure

If any of these occur, discontinue use and contact your doctor immediately.

It may take up to 2 or 3 months to raise your Vitamin D levels if you are very deficient. A 12-week study where participants were supplemented with daily Vitamin D for 12 weeks found that all participants experienced marked improvements in fatigue. Building health can take some time. Patience and consistency are key to seeing results.

Symptoms of low Vitamin D include:

  • Mood changes
  • Bone loss
  • Muscle cramps and weakness
  • Bone and joint pain
  • Fatigue
Yes, older adults produce significantly less Vitamin D than young adults in their early 20s. The reduction in our body’s Vitamin D production with age directly corresponds to a host of chronic conditions related to bone health. You can reduce age-related issues such as brittle bones and tendency toward fractures by increasing calcium intake, along with vitamin D3 + vitamin K.
Supplementing with Vitamin D3 alone will cause the intestines to increase the absorption of more calcium and phosphate, which we all know is good for bones. Both are minerals necessary for healthy bones and teeth. Vitamin D3 activates proteins called osteoclasts which help with bone healing.
