Can You Really Manifest Happiness?

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”

- Helen Keller

Do you want to create a more joyous, abundant, and beautiful life?

Although we may not necessarily be conscious of it, most of the actions we take in life aim to seek happiness and fulfillment, even if we often find ourselves looking in the wrong places… But did you know that true magic can unfold when you intentionally focus your energy and mindset on manifesting your dream?

The power of mindset

Your mindset is so powerful it can even change your body’s physiology.

Want proof? A study split participants into two groups; one group believed the milkshake they consumed was “indulgent” and high in calories, while the second group was told the same milkshake was a low-calorie alternative. The group with the mindset of indulgence had a significantly sharper decline in the hunger hormone ghrelin compared to the other group, even though they both consumed the same milkshake!

According to researchers, “Participants' satiety was consistent with what they believed they were consuming rather than the actual nutritional value of what they consumed.” [1]

Amazing, right?

It’s been found that around 40% of our happiness is within our control, with 10% being attributed to our life’s circumstances and 50% to genetics. And get this, a survey found that when people believed that their happiness was within their control, they were, on average, 32% happier than study participants who didn’t. [2] [3]

These findings mean that not only a large portion of your happiness is actually within your control, but simply believing this can elevate your joy!

How thoughts can help manifest good health

Beyond happiness, positive thinking even has proven health benefits (just think about the physical healing potential of the placebo effect!)

Researchers have explored the effects of positive thinking and optimism on health and have found that it may lead to [4]:

  • Increased life span
  • Higher resilience to illness
  • Improvements in mental health & a lowered risk of depression
  • Lower levels of pain
  • Improved overall energy & well-being
  • Better coping skills during life challenges

Manifesting health and happiness in everyday life

Manifestation is something that thought leaders like Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, and Michael Beckwith often speak about - but what is it exactly?

Manifestation is bringing something tangible into your life through the power of attraction and belief.

It’s been said that manifesting is making everything you want to feel and experience a reality via your thoughts, actions, beliefs, energy, and emotions.

According to Gabrielle Bernstein, author of Super Attractor, “Manifesting is also known as co-creating because it’s a collaboration between you and the universe.”

How to start manifesting good things in your life

1. Set a clear intention and ask for what you want

Setting an intention can be done in various ways—prayer, meditation, visualization, speaking your wishes aloud, journaling, or even creating a vision board are all powerful options. Don’t be shy to express what your heart desires!

2. Practice positive affirmations

Negative self-talk is one of the easiest ways to start manifesting unhappiness. This is where the law of attraction comes in. The law of attraction is a central philosophy within the practice of manifestation, which suggests that “like attracts like.” Therefore, positive thoughts and energy attract positive experiences and vice versa.

Choosing a few affirmations that resonate with you can be a really powerful tool on your manifestation journey.

You can further remind yourself of these affirmations by writing them on your fridge, making them your phone background, or even putting a little note on your mirror!

What are some examples of good daily affirmations for manifestation?

  • I am creating a life of abundance
  • I am worthy of manifesting my desires
  • I am the creator of my reality
  • I can control what takes up space in my mind
  • I have a beautiful and healthy relationship with myself and others

 3. Work towards your goals - don’t just sit back!

Manifestation is more than just an intention; it’s a co-creation, which is why you have to put in the work too, in order to help your dream life come true.

4. Let go of any limiting beliefs that can cloud your vision!

The law of attraction also states that when you remove negativity from your lives, you clear out space, allowing more positive energy, self-love and beauty to blossom and unfold.

Therefore, it’s important to ask yourself: “What are the negative beliefs I have about myself or my life that may be inhibiting my progress?” Write down your answers and reflect on them.

After you write these down, you can even take it one step further and burn the paper that now holds these bad thoughts, visualizing these beliefs leaving your mind and body.

5. Practice gratitude

It’s important to acknowledge and practice gratitude throughout your manifestation journey; even if things don’t happen in the exact time frame you envision, never lose hope!

Research shows that practicing gratitude can increase happiness, improve sleep quality, and even lower stress levels within the body!

6. Mindful meditation

Research has consistently shown that meditation can help to support a positive mindset and mood. For example:

A review of 18 studies showed that people receiving meditation therapies experienced reduced symptoms of depression compared with those in a control group. [5]

While another study found that people who completed a meditation exercise experienced fewer negative thoughts in response to viewing negative images than those in a control group. [6]

These tips can help you manifest the miracles you deserve and your heart desires! You deserve to live a happy, whole, and fulfilled life!
